A Wrinkle in TIme by Madeleine L’Engle

A Wrinkle in Time is the story of Meg Murry, a high-school-aged girl who is transported on an adventure through time and space with her younger brother Charles Wallace and her friend Calvin O'Keefe to rescue her father, a gifted scientist, from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet.

We encourage every family to get a copy of the book and we are asking you to read it at home over the next few weeks. You can check out a copy at the *Gibbons library, or purchase it on Amazon or at Tatnuck. You can also check out a copy at the public library.  Another option is to order the movie edition from scholastic.  The link to order the movie edition is A Wrinkle in Time (Movie Edition) .

Please make the time so your family can participate in this special activity. Reading aloud at home is valuable because it better prepares your child to be an effective reader.  But it is also a fun, worthwhile family activity.  With the One School, One Book program, we aim to build a community of readers at Gibbons.  Everyone – students, teachers, parents, even administrative staff – will be participating, and we can all reap the many benefits.

In school activities are being planned and will be posted to the “Wrinkle in Time” Google Classroom Page.We also plan to attend the highly anticipated movie version of the book as a community in March. Please check the Gibbons Website for updates.

We hope everyone will be talking about Meg, Charles, Calvin and the Mrs. Who, Whatsit and Which, and their journey  Watch the trailer of the film here.“When a whole school reads a book, there’s a lot to talk about.”  With your help, we can continue to build a Community of Readers at Gibbons . Please take a minute to complete the A Wrinkle in Time survey.
