Welcome Back and New Student Ice Cream Social
The School Counseling Office welcomes you to Gibbons! Whether you are returning to our school, transitioning from Mill Pond School, or joining us from another school, we are happy you are here and are available to be of help in any way.

This year we have welcomed the largest number of new students in Gibbons’ history: forty-three students! Twenty-five students have joined seventh grade, and eighteen students have joined eighth grade.  Newcomers come from as close as only a town away, to as far away as Russia, South Korea, Hong Kong, India, Brazil and Guatemala.  Know there are many students and families acclimating to our community; no one is alone in that process.

To welcome our new students and to help continue to support a positive adjustment to school, Gibbons will host welcome ice cream socials for our new students.

On Tuesday, September 24 (for grade 7) and on Thursday, September 26 (for grade 8), new students will join the school counselors in the Gibbons cafeteria during the final period of the school day for ice cream and structured social time.  It’s always a wonderful event!

As always, if you should have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the school counselors:

Smoke and Mirrors: Vaping Panel
We are hosting a community wide Vaping Panel at Mill Pond on October 3rd.  This event is being sponsored by the Westborough Schools, Rotary Club, Westborough Youth & Family Services and Westborough Connects.  Please Click Here

Message from Mr. Foley
Thanks for a great first few days of school! Super smooth and well structured, the welcoming and safe environment that was created made for an easy transition and welcome back for each class.
Special thanks and kudos goes out to Pat Nash, Megan Gerstenzang and our guidance team for once again building an incredibly complex schedule that provides students with an incredibly robust middle school experience. The fact that all of our forty something new students had schedules and lockers in their hands this morning is a testament to the work ethic of our team. As a community, we collectively and individually control the culture and climate of our school. Our first few days of school have been a great example of the strength, caring and professionalism of the GMS staff and community. I am very proud to be a part of this GMS community.
